Although on discogs this is labeled as soul-jazz, and both of the brothers Turrentine are present, I consider this album as a bop-album.

Maybe this album can be described as a crossover album, featuring funky songs, boppish songs and even cool/smooth jazz.

The album swings, but is more on the cool side than on the hot side. The interplay of Stanley and Tommy is excellent (trading solos and riffs) as is the rhytmsection (not spectacular but functional) I do like the bluesy soloing of Horace. In fact the whole album is very bluesy.

The sumtotal is a bluesy and relaxed, sometimes a bit smooth but swinging bop-album where especially the Turrentine-brothers have some exquisite moments.

This album is now availble in the Classic Vinyl Series, and sounds superb!
