Apre`s un premier album, Ki Kote´, remarque´ tant par la presse que par le public (plus de 3 000 copies vendues), le pianiste Gre´gory Privat, originaire de la Martinique, est aujourd'hui pre^t a` proposer une nouvelle cre´ation de son univers musical, illustration sonore de l'histoire de Cyparis, un prisonnier que son profond cachot prote`ge du souffle meurtrier de la Montagne Pele´e
qui ane´antit Saint-Pierre, alors capitale de la Martinique en 1902. L'histoire retiendra que seul Cyparis surve´cut a` cette catastrophe. Bien qu'il n'en soit rien, les talents de conteur de Cyparis en feront un phe´nome`ne de foire enro^le´ par le Barnum & Bailey Circus avec lequel il parcourut le monde en exhibant ses bru^lures.
After a first album, Ki Kote, noticed by the media and the public as well (over 3000 copies sold), pianist Gregory Privat, from Martinique, is now ready to
offer a new creation of his musical universe, sound illustration of the story of Cyparis, a prisoner protected by the walls of his own dungeon from the murderous eruption of Mount Pele´e that destroyed Saint-Pierre, former capital of Martinique in 1902. History holds
that Cyparis was the sole survivor of this disaster.
Due to his great storytelling abilities, Cyparis became unintendedly a "circus freak" for the Barnum & Bailey Circus, with whom he toured the world over, displaying his horrendous burns and wounds.
