Trombonist and co-founder of the GRÜV’N BRASS band, Olivier Hébert is also a talented upright bass player. He writes mainly for his LoFi Octet, mixing a jazz combo to a string quartet. Apart from his own projects, he works as a freelancer in different montréal based band. He will participate in the Bleury Bar à Vinyle Jazz composer séries as a trombone player.
Taking advantage of his versatility, Olivier Hébert progressively gained experience as an orchestral bass player, and as a jazz bass player as well. By then he was composing for a hybrid ensemble mixing a jazz quartet to a string quartet. His composing and arranging talents have been since revealed by his music originality, his sound-shaping singularity and by the virtuosity of his fellowship musician.
