Evan was the primary composer and producer for all songs and scoring of four seasons of the very successful, Emmy Award-winning children's animation, The Backyardigans, a music-based show on Nick, Jr. He scored a season of Oswald, also on Nickelodeon. Additionally, Evan has scored numerous films, Jack Goes Boating (Dir. Seymour Philip Hoffman), Interview, Trees Lounge, Lonesome Jim (Steve Buscemi), Blind Date, and Joe Gould's Secret (Stanley Tucci), among them.
Evan also gained renown internationally as a founding member of the avant-jazz group The Lounge Lizards, from NYC's lower east side art renaissance of the 1970's & 80's. His orchestrations for live instrumentation are a hallmark of his musical sophistication, sensitivity, and originality.
