Daphne Roubini playfully named ”First Lady of Uke” sings and plays the Ukulele in her band Black Gardenia, the Vancouver-based five-piece whose ‘London Jazz meets Americana’ sound has delighted festival and club audiences on two continents. With their unique, darkly-relaxed blend of vintage jazz, country, folk and blues from the 20′s, 30′s and 40′s, Black Gardenia takes listeners on a journey to an age where cool meant classy and noir was the norm.
