This could easily pass as an ECM album, both in music style and quality. Actually this project was started by Agusti Fernandez in 2004 as a self-funded project with an intended printing of 100 copies for friends and acquientences. It took Agusti Fernandez two years to finish it.When it was finished Barry Guy and his wife Maya who own Maya Recordings, liked it so much that they decided to take the album on their label and released it to worldwide distribution and both critical and public success. It is the first time that these 3 virtuoso - pianist and composer Agusti Fernandez , double bassist Barry Guy and drummer and percussionist Ramon Lopez meet in trio format (Agusti Fernandez has collaborated with both of them separately in the past). Not an album of bursting energy one would normally expect from these three exponents of free improvisation but an album of restrained music, lyrical, serene, full of long silencess that proves that sometimes "less is more", but never getting too sentimental, an album with a fresh contemporary sound. An album where clasical meets jazz and improvisation . According to AF ho is responsible for all the tracks except Odyssey(Barry Guy), all tracks started from maximum 4 notes, and the rest was left to collective improvisation in which all instruments are very well balanced. A gem for the European sound sound in jazz.
