This year the resident all-star octet celebrates the 50th Anniversary of two of the essential 1969 albums, Sly and Family Stone’s 'Stand!' and Miles Davis’ 'In a Silent Way'. Released by a pair of artists connected by mutual respect and inspiration, both highly influential albums were beacons of hope during a turbulent time in American history, and helped push jazz, funk, and soul music into new directions.
