"Elsa Nilsson - Band Of Pulses" talk about "Pulses", a Chamber Music America New Jazz Works suite released on Ears and Eyes records at National Sawdust (https://www.nationalsawdust.org/event/elsa-nilsson-band-of-pulses) on October 6th 2023. "Pulses" explores the intersectionality between spoken language and jazz phrasing by highlighting the rhythmic and melodic materials of Dr Maya Angelou's voice in reading her poem "On The Pulse Of Morning" as the foundations of compositions and improvisations.
