Too proud and too infatuated in his aristocratic position, vastly overestimating his own historical significance, the sovereign accepted the offer of transcendence by the machines.

As his mind was being carved out from the restrains of his body and his synapses being singularly pulled out from its connections, he quickly realized his position in the CROWN HIVE wouldn't be as a ruler.

The CROWN HIVE would use his mind as a computing resource and his empty shell as a political puppet to soothe the masses. He would simply be a small post organic module in the hive. Serving and obeying.
