The Newport Jazz Festival All Stars featured assorted musicians assembled by George Wein for Concord recording dates in the late '80s and early '90s. Their personnel included saxophonist Scott Hamilton, cornetist Warren Vache, and, on one date, special guest saxophonist Al Cohn. The All Stars' 1990 release was a live concert done in Bern in 1989, while their 1988 release was a 1987 show recorded in Switzerland.

The Newport Jazz Festival has represented the best in jazz since its birth in 1954. In carrying the message of Newport throughout the world, George Wein has organized groups with the sobriquet Newport Jazz Festival All-Stars (or Newport All-Stars). The All-Stars have performed around the world from Australia to Japan to every country in Europe and have featured many of the most important names in jazz. The musicians appearing in recent performances include Howard Alden, Esperanza Spalding, Lew Tabackin, Regina Carter, Randy Sandke.
