The Danish Radio Jazz Orchestra is one of the great European big bands, created in Copenhagen in 1964 and operating under state radio patronage.Thirty-three years and several albums later, the popularity of the DRJO remains immense, especially in England and the United States. The orchestra maintains an extraordinarily broad repertoire, and features remarkable ensemble playing and soloists that shine. Considered one of the world's best jazz ensembles, the Danish Radio Jazz Orchestra gives the impression it could do Mozart with the same fluency it brings to jazz.
