Born in 1960, Senri Oe has been active and influential in Japanese music scene as lyricist, composer, and arranger ever since he debuted in 1983. He extended his talent in TV and Film industry, and was flourished as an actor and a television host as well. In 2008, he decided to pause his 25 year-long career in popular music for pursuing jazz, and studied with Junior Mance, Aaron Goldberg, and Toru Dodo. He is known as a regular pianist for Morning Musuko, a 17-piece big band specializing in Japanese popular music (J-pop) committed in cross-cultural communications and understanding between Japan and the rest of the world through their own interpretation of J-pop. The band successfully finished their 1st East Coast tour in Spring of 2011 appeared in PhilaMOCA, Washington DC Cherry Blossom Festival, Brooklyn Botanic Garden Cherry Blossom Festival, and Japan Day at Central Park.
