FLORIAN WEBER picture
Pianist Florian Weber was born 1977 in Detmold, Germany, as the son of a music professor and an opera singer. He studied classical music in Detmold and Jazz in Cologne. At 19, he was pianist in Germany’s National Jazz Orchestra. In 1999, he received a stipend for Boston's Berklee College of Music. In June 2007, the 'Institut für Musik der FH, Osnabrück, appointed Florian Weber to a professorship for Jazzpiano.

He has been awarded the following prizes: "Steinway & Sons Preis;" Montreux Jazz Festivals, 2001 "Grotrian-Steinweg Preis;" Weimar, 2004 Koelner Kunstpreis 2006 First Prize: "9em Concours International de Soliste de Jazz;" Monaco, 2007
