Chamber 3 is based on musical sketches, conversations, improvisation and composing on the spot. Chamber 3 is about taking risks and exploring all the music that we have been influenced by.
The story of Chamber 3 starts in the early 1990s in New York City. Christian Eckert and Matt Jorgensen met at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music and struck up a musician friendship the first week of school. A few weeks later they were backing up legendary pianist Ray Bryant for a week-long run a school-sponsored club in the West Village. They would reunite years later for an organ trio CD on OA2 Records entitled, “NY3″, and tours in both Europe and the United States.
Eckert and saxophonist Steffen Weber have worked together on many different projects and have developed a cohesive sound. Weber is a member of both the SWR and HR Big Bands and has released
