Ayumi Tanaka Pianist / Composer Ayumi Tanaka was born in Wakayama, Japan, surrounded by beautiful mountains like here in Norway. She started to study music when she was 3 years old at Yamaha Music school in Japan. During her study there, she studied performance, composition and arranging. She has performed several international concerts held in Japan and Europe. In 2000, she got first prize at Yamaha Junior Electone competition. She has grade 3 license in Yamaha grade system which means she has very high quality skill. Since 2011, she has been studying at Norwegian Academy of Music in the department of Jazz improvised music with following teacher: Misha Alperin, Helge Lien, Anders Jormin as jazz teachers and Kristin Fossheim and Ellen Ugelvik as classic teachers. In her career as a professional pianist, She has her own trio, Ayumi Tanaka Trio(with Christian Meaas Svendsen and Per Oddvar Johansen)
