HYEONSEON BAEK picture
Hyeonseon is vocalist, pianist, arranger and improviser not only jazz but also inspired by soul, pop and rock music. His style has been compared to many vocal titans, but it is uniquely his own voice and musicality. His father was a music producer and he grown up with various of music. Eventually Hyeonseon felt in love with jazz music and moved to Netherlands to study jazz with Sabine Kuehlich who won the prize at SHURE Montreux Jazz voice competition in 2008. He is inspired by Stevie Wonder, Bobby McFerrin, Mark Murphy, Kurt Elling, Mel Torme and countless other musicians. He was selected Semi-Finalists for "Riga Jazz Stage" in 2019. He aims to perform as Post-Bop Jazz singer but also tries to combine Jazz with Korean music.
