If all of Marvin Gaye's albums were like "Whats Goin On" then we would include Gaye in a minute, but since so much of his discog is pop music with very little jazz, we are passing on him for now.
I happen to be a big fan of his pop/RnB music and own almost his entire discog, but most of it is not really "Jazz Related RnB".

If you look at Hayes, Wonder and Mayfield, jazz runs through there work for almost their entire career, you really can't say the same for Gaye.
There are other great RnB singers we have not included in our Jazz Related RnB section, for instance Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett and The Temptations.

Thanks for the suggestion all the same, we have definitely considered him before.

I agree - something like his 'Here My Dear' or 'What's Goin On' are a fit, but most of his discog is not, which is a shame as I've been busting to review 'What's Goin On' - although, nothing to stop me reviewing it in another thread huh?
Lemme try find 'Sparrow'
