Sugar Hill is also the name of one of the first hip-hop labels.

One of, John. Depends what I am after. They have a great mix of stuff. A friend put me on to them a few years ago now. Like me he loved Latin,Jazz, Soul/Funk, Brazilian etc.

Here is another but this one is for Bluegrass since I have it on playing. Again they are not a rip off and they are the premier site on the planet as far as I am concerned. They really are Rebel records but the shop is http://www.countysales.com/ buy six and get one Rebel free of your choice. They carry all the local bands and anybody else who is doing Bluegrass or Old Timey plus all the Rounder, Sugar Hill stuff etc. All these sites that I mention have one great thing, they are honest, reliable and not expensive or I would not deal with them. I have been buying off both for years now. Have not ordered off County for a year now but if I want Bluegrass that is where I go. I like to hear the local bands that do not hardly get any publicity, esp with Bluegrass. It is roots music and the locals can be raw at times as in straight trad Bluegrass Approve

Some new ones and a few 2nd hand. Disco Tex I had but brother took that one when we went our own ways. I let him have nearly all the disco Cry I was really sick of it by the late 70's after it was slaughtered on the radio. He took a few. No point asking for a loan as I know some had been pretty beaten up anyway. $ 1.99 for it WinkThumbs Up

Well John has been getting in my ear lately with three purchases that are right up his alley. Meters and Isaac Hayes.

What about Sebastion Cabot reading Dylan Cool

All records

Now I should be keeping my mouth shut in case any of you blokes beat me to some of these musical treats. Great site and they are not expensive and I have been buying off them for years now. They have all the good music.

I think the problem with a lot of the fusion music is that it's extremely predictable, it's a rock rhythm and the solos all play the same stuff and they play it over and over again ...

After spotting the new album listed at Abstract Logix, went for the cheap option  locally (meaning MP3 download):
Amazon.UK have the following descriptors:

Amazon are normally good with such definitions but classic rock - my arse. Jam band is such a vague and abused term (and seemingly describing the live performance rather than studio). Apart for a rather poppy but enjoyable first track, we have nu.jazz/nu.fusion and lots of it. What would you expect from members of a band with that pedigree (including Wayne Krantz/Steeley Dan's rhythm sections). Sax-lead tunes while Keith Carlock's drum patterns intrigue. Musically it shifts around the fusion scene but enjoyable for the restlessness - hey one tune even reminded me of the UK prize winning Pinski Zoo (are they listed here - anybody remember them from the late 80's?).

Now I'm tempted to purchase the new album - when it gets to a sensible price locally!
