The musics great and the recording is not too bad. I think this may be one of those re-issues where Mingus re-recorded his bass because the bass is loud and clear.
Even for a re-issue I'm really surprised I got this record for as cheap as I did.
I also picked up an alternate mix of Don Ellis' "Shock Treatment" that I had traded off long ago and "Moog Groove" a 60s album with Moog versions of pop hits on Limelight. I have a few of these kind of records and this one is very good, it too was also way under-priced. Limelight was a leader in early electronic music, especially modern composers.

collision in black LPBring Is Home to MeBantu VillageThe Phantom

And some good ole Blues ala Buck and Mae

2 of the Blue Mitchells have never been issued on cd as well as Grant Green.

Buck Clayton is a total joy to hear. He is out of Basie's band and most of his band are from the same. I could go on with all the names. He has a beautiful New Orleans sound being Trad with Swing and Bop and usually a mix of the three. He really can play old time blues as well with that New Orleans sound.

After a long time of putting it off, in favour of other albums, finally:

Will delve into it over time, I expect this one to give up its treasures after more than a few listens
