It used to be the only WR album i could enjoy in full. I had such a tough time getting into them for the longest time, compared to other 70s fusion bands.

Now that I think about it, it's been a while since I've listened to the band. I might throw that on, or maybe Heavy Weather for my Jaco fix

^well I'm finishing this, which is not really far from Jaco-era Weather Report:

And yes, Weather Report are probably the least fusion band I like from the big ones, however they have the benefit that they released way more solid albums than Mahavishnu and RtF. I mean from their debut until Heavy Weather, you got 7 albums that are all pretty different and have a lot to enjoy from each.
Mahavishnu only has 4 albums worthwhile, and RtF 4 (or 5) as well.

^ thats true. WR were more consistent.

After Apocalypse, MO is iffy. McLaughlin was more successful musically speaking, IMO, with his solo albums. I like RTF's first 2 albums though, so it's more like 6 (Music Magic is below average, but Returns (Live) is hot fire, even if they're all older songs)

Well, yeah, I really like the latin-inspired RtF albums, but actually the s/t one is not a RtF album. Wink
So it's:
Light as a Feather
Hymn of..
Where Have I ...
Romantic Warrior
Music Magic

5, I really don't consider No Mystery to be a good album at all, but many differ.

haha thats right, the s/t is a Chick Corea album.

I always found No Mystery to be mixed bag. The funky fusion cuts, which are the first 4 or 5 songs are great, but after that the more classical songs i get no pleasure out of (and i enjoy classical)

The first one for the day is always the toughest to pick.           What will it be..............Done Thumbs Up Elvis the Pelvis...........Kentucky Rain First................"Searchin' for yoooooouu, In the cold Kentucky Raaaain"    Just my faves of this job

They released a box with the lot last year. Read about it in Record Collector...........I was tempted.....still am. I have not seen the price. If I remember right there is only a thousand. Most likely long gone now with those hard core Elvis fans.
