He got better as the night wore on and he was good straight off anyway. Played 100 minutes for the session. Bob Cranshaw was on electric bass from the Blue Note days. Conga  drum kit, guitar and Sonny was the quintet with Bob on bass, no piano or keyboards. I knew about half of the material. He only spoke at the begining( band introduction )which you could not hear because of applause and spoke only again just before the concert finisher. He can still hold those notes and he sounded fab. He came out  stooped because of his age with that bend in his back and I thought, not another BB King  but as I said before he changed when he played, even groovin' at the congas  at one time. On his feet for all of it and played all night with the major solo contributions of course. Bloody good for an eighty year old
