i bought the new Beardfish album yesterday, and while I was skimming the jazz section at the store i saw this album
anyone know this album? how is it? it was recorded in 56 or 57, so it aint what you think (funk from the 50s
)

Looks like a cool find, I've never heard of him before. What they called funk in the 50s would probably be more like hard bop or soul jazz today.

Considering that he goes back to the bop era, funk probably means a very bluesy type of jazz. Anyway, I'll get him added to the site.
