Jim here from Auckland New Zealand - big jazz fan, though not remotely to the exclusion of lots of other kinds of music. My particular areas of interest span 60's-> present day and my favourite instruments are the guitar, saxophone and trumpet in that order. That said I'm a huge Cecil Taylor fan! Current fave guitarists include Jef Lee Johnson (Philly's finest), Jean-Paul Bourelly, James Blood Ulmer, Marc Ribot, Marc Ducret and John Abercrombie. I'm also a part-time volunteer radio DJ and host a 2-hour jazz show every other Sunday starting at noon NZ time - hoping my signature below has a link to the 95bFM website.

Good to be here folks!
Jim

Hey, welcome! You have an interesting taste!

You do know guitarist, Sonny Sharrock, right?

How could I forget Sonny? "The Past Adventures Of Zydeco Honey Cup" being an über-favourite track of mine (not to mention being a song title worthy of Charles Mingus!)

Well, I just reeled off half a dozen names that sprang to mind and for sure Mr.Sharrock would've been #7.

So yes - and thanks for the reminder!
