Hi all, I just started getting back into listening to more jazz after a hiatus of ten years. I don't have spotify, but I was able to listen to the first two tracks. Sounds like you want to check out our Nu Jazz genre, maybe start with early Bugge Weseltoft, I'll be back with more suggestions along that line. You might also like pop-fusion on the CTI label in the early 70s, I'll look for some examples on that too.

Js, thanks so much for the suggestions! The Bill Laurance and Wojtek Masolewski albums are just what I'm looking for. I also enjoyed the Deodato album quite a bit. Snobb, thanks also for the recommendation, I think I'm looking for something a bit more accessible though as I'm only starting to get more into jazz. |

You might like Hidden Orchestra: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zWn1_IY718 There's also Kruder and Dorfmeister. You could probably find a lot of music similar to those tracks if you used a couple of them to start a new station at Pandora. I know Pandora has a lot of music like that.

Snobb, Thanks for the suggestion, some of Jaga Jazzist's tracks do hit the spot for me. Js, Thanks also for taking the time to reply, Hidden Orchestra sounds great! Kruder and Dorfmeister steers a bit too close to the late 90s / early 2000s downtempo - chill out sector for me. I'd love to try Pandora for finding more to listen to but sadly it's not available in Canada.
