Metropolitan Arseniy commented on the airstrike on the Sviatogorsk Lavra.
The abbot of the Sviatogorsk Lavra, Metropolitan Arseniy, in his https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNBi-kX-BX8" rel="nofollow - video message called madness the shelling of the monastery, which does not and cannot have any military facilities.
The bishop of the UOC said that the Assumption Cathedral of the monastery, as well as the monastery hotel, which accommodates 520 refugees from Kharkiv and Izium, including 200 children, were damaged as a result of the bomb fall. Among them are those wounded by glass fragments.
“At the time of the airstrike, there were about 10,000 civilians living in Sviatogorsk along with the refugees. There were no military units on the territory of Sviatogorsk and the Sviatogorsk Lavra," Metropolitan Arseniy stressed. “In other words, the attack hit a peaceful city and one of Ukraine's three Orthodox shrines – the Holy Dormition Sviatogorsk Lavra.”
The bishop called it madness "to make airstrikes on civilians and people who fled from the war because of the bombing." Metropolitan Arseniy said that medical assistance had been provided to the wounded. However, according to the information he has, a second airstrike is being prepared.
“I as the abbot of the Holy Dormition Sviatogorsk Lavra, urge everyone on whom it depends to stop this madness, the bombing, the strikes on absolutely peaceful cities,” the metropolitan said.

New Russian military convoy is coming to Ukraine from Belorus
Today, Russian forces shot and killed 10 people standing in line for bread in Chernihiv. Such horrific attacks must stop. We are considering all available options to ensure accountability for any atrocity crimes in Ukraine.

Fears are growing that Moldova could be next on the Russian President's hit list.
The Russian embassy in Moldova has asked Russian nationals to get in touch with examples of "discrimination" or "acts of violence", prompting fears the evidence could be used to deploy forces to "protect" citizens "under threat".

- 115 children fell victim to the war unleashed by russia and putin. More than 140 young Ukrainians were injured.
These numbers are not figures but the scale of grief and the broken destinies of hundreds of Ukrainian families.

Longstanding Russian government insider quits, Russian state news reports
Anatoly Chubais, a Russian government insider for decades, is leaving his job as President Vladimir Putin’s special representative on the environment, Russian state news agency TASS reported Wednesday, citing an unnamed source.
Chubais is the highest-profile Russian official to quit since the war began.
Reuters reported that Chubais had left Russia and did not plan to return, also citing an unnamed source.
CNN is seeking comment from Chubais himself and has not independently confirmed that he has left Russia or the reason for his resignation.
Chubais had been in the environment job since December 2020, TASS said. He rose to prominence as Boris Yeltsin’s finance minister in the 1990s.

https://www.euronews.com/2022/04/03/ukraine-dozens-of-bodies-lie-in-a-mass-grave-in-bucha" rel="nofollow - Dozens of bodies lie in a mass grave in Bucha
Russia has been accused of a “terrible war crime”, as western leaders condemned the killings of scores of unarmed civilians in Bucha and the surrounding areas of Kyiv.
Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, said the Kremlin-ordered attack on his country amounted to genocide, after local officials reported scores of civilians had been killed in the towns of Bucha, Irpin and Hostomel near the capital following the withdrawal of Russian forces.
Zelenskiy told the US television network CBS that Ukraine’s refusal to be subdued to Russia was the reason “we are being destroyed and exterminated”, describing the war as “the torture of the whole nation”.
Ukraine’s foreign minister, Dymtro Kuleba, said Russia was “worse than Isis”.
Reporters from Agence France-Presse saw at least 20 bodies, all in civilian clothing, strewn across a single street in the town of Bucha on Friday. One had his hands tied behind his back with a white cloth, and his Ukrainian passport left open beside his body. “All these people were shot,” Bucha’s mayor, Anatoly Fedoruk, told AFP, adding that a further 280 bodies had been buried in mass graves in the town.
“Dozens of shot civilians have been discovered in Bucha,” said the German chancellor, Olaf Scholz, as he expressed shock about the “terrible and horrifying” footage. “Streets littered with bodies. Bodies buried in makeshift conditions. There is talk of women, children and the elderly among the victims,” he said.
Germany’s vice-chancellor, Robert Habeck, condemned the killings of civilians in the town of Bucha as a “terrible war crime [that] cannot go unanswered” and called for a strengthening of sanctions. The country’s foreign minister, Annalena Baerbock, said the images from Bucha were “unbearable”.
“Putin’s frantic violence is wiping out innocent families and knows no bounds,” she wrote on Twitter, adding that those responsible for war crimes must be held to account.
The US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, described the killings at Bucha as “a punch to the gut” and joined western allies in vowing to document the atrocities to hold the perpetrators to account.
The head of the European Council, Charles Michel, said he was shocked by “haunting images of atrocities committed by [the] Russian army in liberated region of Kyiv”, adding that “further EU sanctions and support are on their way”.
The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said she was “appalled by reports of unspeakable horrors in areas from which Russia is withdrawing”. An independent investigation was urgently needed, she said, and “perpetrators of war crimes will be held accountable”.
France’s foreign minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, pledged France would work with Ukrainian authorities and the international criminal court (ICC) “to ensure these acts don’t go unpunished and that those responsible are being sent to trial and convicted.”
The UK prime minister, Boris Johnson, who spoke to Zelenskiy on Saturday said the UK “will continue to step up military, economic and diplomatic support, including further ramping up sanctions to increase the economic pressure on Putin’s war machine, while Russian troops remain on Ukrainian territory”.
Kuleba urged the ICC and international organisations to come to the region to collect evidence of Russian war crimes.
Speaking on Times Radio on Sunday, he said Bucha was a “deliberate massacre”. Describing Russia as “worse than Isis”, he said Russian forces were guilty of murder, torture, rape and looting. He also urged G7 countries to impose “devastating” sanctions immediately.

Facts of rape of children by the Russian military
UCMC press center 08.04.2022, 21:08
Ombudswoman Liudmyla Denisova reported on the recorded facts of rape of children by the Russian military:
• A 14-year-old girl was raped by 5 male occupiers. She is pregnant now. Bucha.
• An 11-year-old boy was raped in front of his mother – she was tied to a chair to watch. Bucha.
• A 20-year-old woman, raped by three occupiers at the same time, using all possible body entrances. Irpin.
Denisova reminded that rape is strictly prohibited by Article 27 of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War of 1949, and therefore Russian war criminals must be punished.

Rubtsovsk residents are getting messages about town's soldiers' looting
The Russian town of Rubtsovsk has been https://www.currenttime.tv/a/belarusk-gayun-opublikoval-lichnye-dannye-voennyh-rf-oni-posle-uchastiya-v-voyne-v-ukraine-otpravlyali-v-rossiyu-krupnye-posylki-s-veschami/31785754.html" rel="nofollow - in the news recently after Russian soldiers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vyY4rnJ7lA" rel="nofollow - were seen mailing large amounts of goods from the Belarus town of https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9C%D0%BE%D0%B7%D1%8B%D1%80%D1%8C" rel="nofollow - Mozyr , to various destinations in Russia. Most of the packages were mailed to the town Rubtsovsk in Russia's Altai region, according to some https://t.me/Hajun_BY/3778" rel="nofollow - Belarus media sources , and are thought to be goods stolen from Ukraine. And now, Ukrainian users are directly intervening in an online marketplace as a way of communicating with Russians about the war, as residents in Rubtsovsk advertise items that could have been looted.
In the process, they are challenging Russian propaganda by showing Rubtsovsk VK users videos and photos from Ukraine, including images of the soldiers who sent 450-kg packages “back home,” and of the blood, murders, and bombings.
Although it is not publicly known exactly where in Ukraine the Russian soldiers were https://www.currenttime.tv/a/belarusk-gayun-opublikoval-lichnye-dannye-voennyh-rf-oni-posle-uchastiya-v-voyne-v-ukraine-otpravlyali-v-rossiyu-krupnye-posylki-s-veschami/31785754.html" rel="nofollow - stationed , Mozyr is not far from the Kyiv region where, in the town of https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/04/11/world/europe/bucha-terror.html" rel="nofollow - Bucha and https://www.bbc.com/russian/news-61016050" rel="nofollow - many others , the Russian army appears to have committed horrible war crimes against civilians, including murder, rape, torture, and looting.
The Russian media source https://www.the-village.ru/city/city/zhizn-v-rubtsovske" rel="nofollow - The Village describes Rubtsovsk as a “depressive” town that was built in the 1940s around a tractor plant, which went bankrupt in 2011.
There are four prisons in and around Rubtsovsk. The town's population is around 140,000, and average salaries are around USD 250 per month. In fact, this is not extraordinary: there are thousands of towns like Rubtsovsk in various regions of Russia. They are called https://pulitzercenter.org/blog/interactive-map-russias-monotowns" rel="nofollow - “monotowns” and were usually built around some large industrial employer which in the years after the USSR collapsed became obsolete, but the towns remained.
As in most medium-sized towns, VKontakte (“Being in contact”) and Odnoklassniki (“Classmates”) are the preferred social networks among those who use the internet. https://globalvoices.org/2022/04/04/war-is-war-vkontakte-users-discuss-the-russian-invasion-of-ukraine/" rel="nofollow - In our previous study , we concentrated on the group titled “Typical [city name],” where users share photos, town news, and stories. There is a https://vk.com/typical_rubcovsk_city" rel="nofollow - “Typical Rubtsovsk ” group, too. But on April 5, something unfolded in the provincial online life of this VK’s group: “ATTENTION! IMPORTANT INFORMATION!” states an announcement in Russian on the main page. We have been attacked by a network of Ukrainian bots and commentators! In order to… prevent breaking article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, we must block all the comments temporarily. We must remind our subscribers that there is informational war conducted against Russia with all possible methods.”
However, another, perhaps even more popular group in Rubtsovsk’s VKontakte remained open to comments. The group, which is public, is called “ https://vk.com/rubcovck" rel="nofollow - Listened to in Rubtsovsk ” and has 26,819 members. It is mainly dedicated to selling or exchanging household items or clothes and renting flats.
The first comment by Evgeniya asks: “tell me please, are these from the things stolen in Ukraine? Soldiers from Rubtsovsk have stolen a lot there. I wouldn’t want to have things that are cursed…”
Yurii follows with a photo of items that appear to be from a war zone, “Has anyone seen these? They are in Rubtsovsk…”
Several people are furious: “What are you saying? Do not comment if you are not intending to buy!” Or, more aggressively, “Have you held a candle [when they stole it?]?” meaning that the Ukrainian commentators are guilty themselves. A user named Tanya suggests: “They are getting paid for each comment!” and a user named Maria says “You are totally fucked up.”
Next in line, someone is selling a purse “in good condition.”
“Show us the price tag,” says Alex.
“They were in a hurry, and anyway, probably don’t know what the price tag is,” answers Vitaly.
Further down the page, there is an announcement selling a blue winter jacket.
Reactions?
Some people are in denial over the source of the goods.
“I know why there are posts like this. Because SDEK (the postal service) gave out information with personal data, phones, and addresses on the internet. Allegedly, soldiers sent things to Rubtsovsk. And somehow, Ukrainians decided to declare that it was Russian army who looted, not Ukrainians. And they could not have suggested that people could have bought these things in Belarus. That our army has good salaries but they could not think about it of course.”
Some are outraged: “Why do you give space to those comments in this group?! They are obviously lying!”
Some take a historical perspective: “We know what your Bandera did, and you are the same.”
While others are angry: “Go back to your f…ing Ukraine!”
However, none of them can easily shake the accusations.
Is this a good thing? some activists think that whatever the medium, exposing the truth about the war against Ukraine is one of the only ways to reach out to “ordinary Russians.” The https://t.me/femagainstwar" rel="nofollow - feminist anti-war coalition is encouraging people to write the truth on banknotes and in books.
St Petersburg’s young artist https://www.bbc.com/russian/news-61095879" rel="nofollow - Sasha Skolichenko switched price tags in a supermarket with anti-war statements and was later arrested for it.
VK’s users are looking for things looted in Bucha and elsewhere. Possibly, the moderators will be slow, and algorithms way behind. The following image has a comment: “Have you removed them from a corpse in Ukraine?”
