This expansion of medici.tv’s VOD catalogue with over 200 – and growing – videos of jazz’s greats, past and present, includes archival gems from Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk and Ella Fitzgerald alongside contemporary stars such as Chris Potter, Marcus Miller and Brad Mehldau among many others.
With hundreds of jazz films already available and more added regularly, the repertoire will appeal to a wide range of jazz newcomers and connoisseurs, with high quality sound and high-def picture quality. The platform presents each video with a synopsis, cast list, performer biographies, and a program presentation with the platform’s editors constantly creating new thematic playlists, highlights the latest releases and live events to engage viewers and involve the medici.tv community.
To introduce this new collection, the spotlight will be put on a different jazz artist every day this across the site’s social media, including the likes of trumpet icon Louis Armstrong, to revered bassist Ron Carter, one of the most recorded jazz bassists in history.
