| I have heard 6 albums from the above list, some of them are really great IMO, others - just quality "again the same" music. In all the list looks as strongly mainstream oriented what is not too unusual or strange for "Jazzwise" though |

Yeah, I've not heard more than five (though not remembering if the Kit Downes I listened to was this year's) and it's too late to check the rest. Of those five, Matana sort of kicks ass compared to the rest. I anticipate many more jazz tops like this one in which the artists will barely ring a bell to me. -------------

I've heard nine of them, I am surprised that Brad Mehldau entered the top, his album sounds OK but nothing special, I have to get Marius Neset's album, I've seen some review of his album and I'm curious.

I agree (and even more than agree  ) about Mehldau album, and yes - ^^ Matana's album is the best from what I heard from this list
