Happy (Jewish) New Year !!!

and here is a traditional  New Year song in jazz manouche style

I think the problem with a lot of the fusion music is that it's extremely predictable, it's a rock rhythm and the solos all play the same stuff and they play it over and over again ...

Happy New Year!

I am not Jew, but I was born and grew up in a city which was known for hundreds of years as "Northern Jerusalem" Smile

Before WWII the Jewish population of Vilnius was more than 100 000 , after four years of Nazi occupation it decreased to just 9 000, and after few first decades of Soviet occupation only around 3 000 of Jews were living in town.

But I grew up between Jewish families, I still remember old people speaking Yiddish , taste of "tsimus" and "matza" and lot of noisy Jewish children around ... Smile

In fact, Yiddish and Central European Jewish legacy is almost history, but we still have Gaon street and Jews street in down town, and the town still celebrates Hanuka every year on one of the central squares. Unfortunately, kletzmer sounds only during musical fests LOL

Yes, Happy New Year!

By the way, as the memory that I am vague a member of Beastie Boys. (I do not remember the name.)
When there was the member who inherited Jewish blood, I memorized it. The memory is not sure.

^ you're quite right about Beatie Boys
also in Jazz you can find Stan Getz and Benny Goodman among the most famous, and from the living ones John Zorn.
