Hello. LOL

I'm not a big fan of jazz, but very fond of Jazz Rock / Avant-Jazz, especially http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=4699" rel="nofollow - Djamra and http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=6060" rel="nofollow - The Soundbreakers (both are not upon JMA).

Please count me in, and let me know more about jazzy world.

Thanks a lot. Big smile

Haha, thanks Ash.
Anyway, are you interested in Haiku? Whew, more Japanese-y than Japanese. Clap

Yeah! I've been writing it for a few years now, and have a small chapbook published here in Oz actually.

I love how difficult it can be to write, and how powerful to read (especially the masters, Issa, Basho etc)

But last year I started getting into the gendai movement and it blew me away. Like Watanabe Hakusen and others who were imprisoned for their art! Or this:

like squids
bank clerks are fluorescent
from the morning

Kaneko Tōta (trans. Makoto Ueda)

Really made me want to push haiku beyond common 'nature' or 'zen moment' stuff.

Dear me, look at me ramble - sorry to bombard you with all this, you probably know it all better than I, Keishiro!!!

So what's the state of haiku like in Japan at the moment? Renku (which I also love) seems to be going strong?

And most definitely difficult to me - it still makes my head spin a little, trying to understand the gendai movement in depth.
