This year's 10th edition of the Made in the UK series at New York's Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival, will be the first since its founder, John Ellson, passed away last year. The showcase gigs have become a vital stepping-stone for UK-based musicians to perform in the US and Canada.

Now under the auspices of music manager Sue Edwards, a longtime friend and colleague of Ellson's, this year's MITUK runs from 23 June to 1 July, with selected artists representing the depth and diversity of the British jazz scene, including Gwilym Simcock, Neil Cowley Trio, Elliot Galvin Trio, Laura Jurd's Dinosaur (above), Dave O'Higgins' Atlantic Bridge Quartet, Polly Gibbons Quartet, Phronesis, Binker & Moses and Tessa Souter Quartet. The festival is presented in three strands including the Club Pass series with over 230 shows; the headliner series of six shows and 95 free shows.

All events are held in Rochester's East End Cultural and Entertainment District, with some 1,500 artists from around the world appearing at over 325 concerts in 19 venues.
