John Coltrane has a live album which was recorded there.
I see a few versions of this album, one with 3 tracks, one with  5 tracks and one with more than 5.
Which one of them is the right version ?

Released in 1962, original version has 3 tracks (Impulse! A-10), first CD reissues (Japanese and European, both 1987) have same track list. Songs come from material, recorded in Nov. 2 & 3.

1. Spiritual
2. Softly As In A Morning Sunrise
3. Chasin' The Trane

First CD release I know which contains 5 tracks, is Japanese CD from 1991 (on Impulse! as well), or saying more precise - a series of 3 CDs, titled "Live at Village Vanguard" with subtitles "11-01-1961", "11-02-1961" and "11-03 & 5 -1961". Series contains lot of additional material taken from four concerts.

2009 double vinyl limited edition release contains four tracks (incl. "Chasin' The Trane(No EQ)" bonus track) (on Original Rec Group, US).European 2012 CD release contains six tracks (incl. three bonuses from same gigs)(on Essential Jazz Classics). Same year same label released same album's reissued in Australia on vinyl, containing four tracks (with one bonus). I expect there can be more different reissues  of different combinations.

All them are authorized and legal, so - in that sense them all are "right". Speaking about original first press, it contained three tracks

Its pretty typical for a jazz artist to have an ongoing run at any nightclub, sometimes a couple months in a row.
Its not unusual for a top billed artist to get a month long run at the Vanguard.

I think John Coltrane recorded 2 or 3 times at the Village Vanguard. You are likely to get more tracks on the cd re-issue that on the original lp. there is also new material being issued by Coltrane on a regular basis, these normally are recorded by serious collectors on equipment that may not be up to major recording companies standards of hi fidelity, but musically and creatively they are worth it. To many jazz lovers John Coltrane represents all that is good and pure about jazz music, he never compromised to popular taste, instead he pushed himself on to greater levels of emotion and creativity until his early death.---John Coltrane represents one of the greatest musical forces of 20th century music, a musical explorer who was a kind and gentle man apparently.
