Blue Note Hawaii, a new music venue in Waikiki Beach, Hawaii, will open next week, according to a press release from Outrigger Resorts, which is partnering with Blue Note Entertainment Group on the venture. The club will feature jazz, blues and Hawaiian music, according to the release.

The Hawaiian venue joins existing Blue Note clubs in New York, Washington D.C., Milan and two locations in Japan. Located in the former Society of Seven showroom inside Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort, the 9,000-square-foot Blue Note Hawaii, with seating for more than 300, will feature a year-round lineup of musical entertainment. The new club will begin a series of soft-opening events on December 28 through January 10, featuring Maya Azucena. The club will welcome its first local entertainer with ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro on January 1-2. New Orleans’ Rebirth Brass Band will headline a three-day semi-private series of concerts on January 11-13, with 150 seats available to the public. The official grand opening is on January 14 featuring jazz icon Kenny G in two shows per day through January 17.
