I have a personal problem with guitar and vibraphon in jazz, otherwise it sounds OK.
I think the problem with a lot of the fusion music is that it's extremely predictable, it's a rock rhythm and the solos all play the same stuff and they play it over and over again ...

apart or together, it doesn't matter, I just don't enjoy them, this is probably the reason I'm not enjoying Pat Metheny's music

I'm not generally a huge fan of guitar in jazz (with exceptions made for such people as Derek Bailey), but I do love me some good vibraphone.

regarding the vibraphone, actually  there is one or maybe two albums with Gary Burton which I find "listenable', but I can't recall their names right now
