Ok, one more:

JOE MANERI:

To avant-garde, I'm pretty sure.

Heck, his son Mati is here before him! Wink

Oh, funk! That's awesome. Now I know why you know much about it, and of course of jazz in general. Wink

Cool You're still playing with the acid jazz band, was it?

I remember you passed me your MySpace long time ago and it was pretty cool.

I had thought that 3rd World Electric was already here, they've been added to PA. They're definitely classic fusion, clearly inspired by Weather Report.

Yes, they are the missing link between Chicago's avant-garde AACM and the first version of EW&F.
They are similar to early Kool and the Gang with the band being a mix of avant-garde jazz and RnB artists.

^great! Yes they are:

The Pharaohs, an American soul/jazz/funk group, were formed in 1962 out of a student band, The Jazzmen, at Crane Junior College in ChicagoIllinois.

Another suggestion, The Pharaohs:

It's like the most jazzy/latin stuff of Earth Wind & Fire, yes, this has Maurice White on vocals and drums.

Probably Jazz Related something, but I'll let you decide.

Magma will be added eventually, but I'm holding off on some prog-rock bands for now.
Keeping a lid on the number of prog-rock bands in the early days will help keep the front page of the site looking like a jazz site, not a subsidiary of a prog site.
This is an issue I've discussed with Max many times and he is with me on this.
We will add Magma eventually, but lets wait until we have established this site as a jazz site first.

Wise words. Shoe shops sell accessories but there are no accessory shops that sell shoes....(need to switch to decaf I think) Confused

i mean, there are soooooo many jazz artists, and we're trying to be the most complete. It's likely a few will be missed. I know a bunch of artists we're still missing (ill get that list by tomorrow, spring break, beeches!)
