Only ever heard the main Soundtrack stuff, would have liked Vol 1 as well though
Love Peter Gunn
Also got a couple of Herbie Mann's, 1 Dorsey Brothers, The Real Ambassadors ( Armstrong, Brubeck etc), 1 Cugat and last but not least Dean Martin's Country album ( sounds like a marriage made in heaven to me) still have to play it though . I was really surprised at the stuff they had. Jumped on the Billy May and this Quincy

It's a Latin One, no idea of release date but Chick Corea, Dave Pike ( vibes),Jimmy Heath, sax and Carmell Jones on trumpet. Does not list the percussion members just says they are the best in New York...( yeah but who?). I nearly did not get it because I thought not another "Watermelon Man" (its getting like Caravan for me, too many times) glad I did though, it is great. Also got "Push Push" by him, it was that or 'Discotheque" I prefered the song selection on "Push Push". He is awesome on that Machito album I have been playing and that is what really sparked my interest.

I think I have Push Push, is that the one that has his cover of AWB's Pick up the Pieces, that song is one of Mann's best jams. Yeah, I'm sick of Watermelon Man, will generally refuse to play it in bands.

Thats probaly on Dischotheque I like them both, Most of these records I got $5 to $8 and some less. Like a kid in a candy store John.
I do not have any trad Jazz to play on record. Problem Solved, $6 for this in glorious Mono ( Mint).

What a Classic Bit of trivia, last time he played here, (Great) he told the promoters "money up front or no show"........They were scrambling as he was the main act that night Off to the footy, wish me luck, catch you tomorrow.
Oh, the Billy May (nearly called him Ricky Aust. jazz singer) was great. Trad Jazz done with heaps of Swing. The arrangements are great
