I think the problem with a lot of the fusion music is that it's extremely predictable, it's a rock rhythm and the solos all play the same stuff and they play it over and over again ...

Agree, John and usually strings and Bop musicians do not mix one bit for me. Cool Sonny calls first though today.......nice seventies album this one.

It is not often I say this but I don't mind the strings with Charlie. It is his playing that I listen too mainly. The strings have a bit of Swing as well. This and Vol 1, I got from Dusty Groove. Don't have any of his Verve stuff. He is fantastic, so smooth with everything and  always it just flows along together.

I was wrapped when I spotted it. It has a bit of wear but beggars can't be choosers, John. Jo Jones is drumming as well as a few others from the classic early Basie Band are with him.  Awesome tone to his trumpet.

Found this last night, actually where I bought the other one with Jimmy Rushing and Ada Moore. Looks a bit scratchy and it had been cleaned with a record spray can. I know from experience myself what that smear is on the surface. Anyway cleaned up lovely for its age.

Luv ya Buck
