I don't have any Marsalis brothers albums, mostly because of negative view points from various musicians (especially Miles) and music listeners; that they don't strive to push the genre forward, they're stuck in the 1960s, or something like that.

Well, I mean, they said Wynton would be treading old ground, so i thought that it wouldn't be worth my time.

Thats Branford's new album up there, not Wynton, they're quite different, Wynton is the one more given to philosophising.

Cool, I'll check this out I reckon - I am a bit biased against Wynton because of his righteousness/blinkers - but happy to check out Branford hahaha

Yup, Wynton is the vocal one... I don't remember much about Brandford making this kind of assertions.

I've always wondered how Brandford felt about of his brother's intrusive and invasive "philosophical" comments played or affected on his own artistic career and his public perception

my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicted musicians to crazy ones....

good album
I think the problem with a lot of the fusion music is that it's extremely predictable, it's a rock rhythm and the solos all play the same stuff and they play it over and over again ...
