I would like to suggest Dutch-Belgian group, Gare Du Nord, for some kind of smooth, loungy jazz. Say acid jazz or smooth jazz, not sure.

Those cuts up there had me thinking some kind of retro kitsch jazz blues kind of thing, but I found more music by them that was pure acid jazz without vocals, and other tunes with male vocals.
