Bit of everything with animation as well. ( even early Manga I used to watch).
 
Being a boy I loved my superheros..............still doTongue
 
Here is a song from Guy Clarke concerning grown men and superheros. Country but beautifully written. Guy can't sing for sh*t but can he write.        "Spread you arms and hold you breath and  always trust ya cape"

When I was a kid, the coolest was the Green Hornet and Kato. All the kids at school wanted to be Kato.

I get a kick out of seeing kids in their superhero outfits. My son ran around as Batman for a while with the plastic cape. (Garbage bag plastic). My oldest daughter stripped his Batman figure a couple of times.ShockedCry He was not impressed LOL
 
I went for Daffy........Stupor Duck
 
I was actually a Thor and Fantastic Four fan. Used to read the comics and watch the Marvel cartoons.

Did not put them up but I loved the Thunderbirds. Everything exploded whether it needed too or not.  Who cares if you saw the puppet strings sometimes. "Thunderbirds are go"  ( I have the series on DVD and ocassionally still watch the shows) Embarrassed

Although having spent almost 20 years in North america (from age 10 until 30), I was bnever in US comics, especially in the super-heroes, which I tend to regazrd as an inferior subculture of comics (definitely not into japanese mangas either, though...
 
Indeed, being born in Belgium (land of Tintin and Smurfs), the "bande dessinnée" of my youith fomllowed me in Canada, and I never really lost sight of it.... of course it's become a lot more "adult" since the days of the Smurfs,
 
 
There is however a certain kind of North amlerican comic I do follow, but it's rather more Canadian than US
 
Paul Rabagliatti, Chester Brown, Seth, Guy Deslsles, Jimmy Beaulieu, Joe Matt (he's United Statian and a very twisted fellow)...
 
To a lesser extent, authors like Damniel Clowes and Chris Ware's new releases are ones I watch for

But when it comes to newspaper comics, I followed daily Garfield, Calvin & Hobbes, Blondie and my absolute favourite Bloom County - hence my DandelionPatch  prog folk CZ thread you've all seen in PA
 
 
 
 
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicted musicians to crazy ones....

Probably Japanese comics and animated cartoon will be known well abroad. However, superman and Spider-Man are known in Japan.

You do some awesome animation in Japan Kazuhiro. We used to get a few Japanese shows being fairly close. Although not a cartoon  did you watch or have seen "The Samurai". It was on in the sixties. We loved the Ninjas with their stars they threw and everybody jumped on and off roofs and of course. The Samurai always won.

Yes. I really know that Samurai and Ninja are known well abroad. However, I do not really know the existence of a comic with a realistic narrative and the animated cartoon which handled the theme abroad.

If it is a movie, I know "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "The Last Samurai".

However, I know the tour that I can experience when overseas people visited Japan. It can really use a weapon and the sword which Ninja uses in costume of Ninja. It seems to be popular somehow or other. Of course I seem to attract the souvenir.

Samarai wasn't a comic it had actors ( sort of Wink). We used to watch it in Black and White. We did not get colour TV till the mid seventies in Australia.

I think you had another name in Japan for the show in the early 1960's. We got the show mid-sixties.

I did not almost know it about Samurai where Matt mentioned.Shocked The reason is because I was born in 1970.LOL

Probably I think the name of Samurai to be "Samurai Shintaro". It is just "Spy Swordman".Thumbs Up

"Enter The Dragon" attracted the audience very much when it was shown in Japan. It was said that the audience was the feeling that became Bruce Lee after having watched a movie.

Because I was a following generation, all my generations were attracted by Jackie Chan.
