Victor Bailey Fundraising Benefit Next Tuesday in Philadelphia

Bassist suffers from disease that affects motor and sensory functions

A fundraiser will be held for former Weather Report bassist Victor Bailey 
at the Clef Club, 738 S. Broad St., Philadelphia, next Tuesday, March 8, at 7:00-11:00 p.m. Bailey suffers from CMT, Charcot Marie Tooth disease, which affects his motor and sensory nerves. Bailey can no longer play music due to his illness. The benefit concert, presented by NAAVA (National Alliance Against Violence in America), will 
feature an all-star tribute to Bailey with Chuck Loeb, Poogie Bell, Bill Evans, Gerald Veasley, Alex Bugnon, Jeff "Tain" Watts, Steve Green, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Donald Robinson and musical director Bill Jolly. Special guests will be Billy Paul, Dee Dee Sharp, Dexter Wansel, Instant Funk, Norman Connors, Doug Grigsby, Sam Peakes and speaker Jeana Sweeney from the Charcot Marie Tooth Association.
