In my opinion this is one of the best album existing. A great jazz experience and maybe the best jazz album I ever heard in my life. What do you think about it?

I agree. It's stunning. I have not even come close to tiring of it yet. Composition, orchestration, performance, it's all there. And it even has a kind of 'film noir'/detective feel to some of it, which is a cool bonus for me as I love that genre of film

Yes it is very good .. it was released on Impulse! Records in 1963 ..

^ Awesome - did Mingus every release much of BS&TSL on a live LP? I might go research...
...after a very brief and quite a cursory search, I've found naught on the Live Black Saint front. No doubt a tough album to perform live

I'm pretty sure it was the live performance ion this DVD I saw last night.. I'd seen it before, and they played three times throughout the night
