Jazztopad Festival Brings Polish Jazz to U.S. for Second YearObara International Quartet, Piotr Damasiewicz, Marcin Wasilewski and moreIn collaboration with the Polish Cultural Institute New York, a
special edition of Wrocław’s Jazztopad Festival will take place in the
United States this summer. From June 19 – July 1, leading Polish jazz
ensembles the Piotr Damasiewicz Quintet, the Marcin Wasilewski Trio, the
Obara International Quartet and the Lutosławski Quartet will perform in
New Haven, New York, Washington, D.C., and Bolton Landing, N.Y. Also
joining this year’s musicians are previous Jazztopad guests Tony Malaby
and Uri Caine.
“The American edition of Jazztopad Festival will be above all an opportunity to discover the most important artists from the Polish contemporary jazz scene,” said Piotr Turkiewicz, artistic director of the festival, in a press release. “Jazztopad Festival presents, apart from regular concerts, special projects and commissions, as well as concerts in private apartments.
