George Porter Jr. [US] for Fusion / Funk

American bassist, born December 26, 1947 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.

Along with Artwork Neville, Leo Nocentelli and Zigaboo Modeliste, Brand-new Orleans R&B bassist George Porter, Jr. was a founding person in the Meters, New Orleans’ top funk band from the ’60s and ’70s. Porter continued to be in demand like a program musician for quite some time, and Runnin’ Partner, his personal 1990 recording on Rounder, shown his multi-faceted strategy. After a five-year hiatus, he came back with Points Ain’t What They Utilized to Become; Funk This adopted in 1997.

Discography:
1990 - Runnin' Partner
2010 - Christmas In New Orleans "A Tribute to My Mother"
2011 - Live at Jazz Fest 2011
2011 - Can't Beat The Funk! (& Runnin' Pardners)
