Stevie Wonder has used his performance at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival to criticize Donald Trump. During his headline set on Sunday night, Stevie addressed Trump directly (referring to him as ‘Mr. 45’) and said that God had created all men as equals “Whether you're black, white, brown, or Native American”. He declared that the job of President should be to unite people and not divide them and said “Don't let the love that I've given you be gone because of him” then played the songs ‘Higher Ground’ and ‘Love’s In Need of Love Today’.

Later on, Stevie brought out British singer Corrine Bailey Rae as a guest vocalist on the classic ‘Sir Duke’. She later tweeted, saying that ‘unity’ was the message of the festival.
