Legendary US composer, producer, pioneer and all-round cool cat Quincy Jones
will take home this year’s PPL Lifetime Achievement Award as part of
2016’s Jazz FM Awards, which are produced by Serious and will take place
at the Bloomsbury Ballroom, London on 26 April. Jones, the habitual
Grammy-gatherer, is being acknowledged for his prolific impact upon the
music industry throughout a career spanning over six decades. Indeed,
one of his latest contributions to the biz, Jones’ protégé, the
precociously multi-talented Jacob Collier, is among the list of nominees for this year’s awards, which will be hosted by British broadcaster and comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli.
