Toronto Oscar Peterson Tribute Concert to Live Stream Friday

Kenny Barron, Bill Charlap, Gerald Clayton and others to perform

The late Canadian pianist Oscar Peterson’s 90th birthday will be celebrated in a concert at Toronto’s Koerner Hall this Friday, Dec. 11, at 8 p.m. The event also marks the launch of the new CD, Oscar, With Love with Celine Peterson, Oscar’s daughter, and several other pianists.

Particpants in the concert include Robi Botos, Oliver Jones, Kenny Barron, Benny Green, Gerald Clayton, Renee Rosnes, Bill Charlap and others, who will perform on Peterson’s own piano, which is being transported to Koerner Hall. 


Mervon Mehta, Executive Director of Performing Arts at the Royal Conservatory, will host a post-intermission chat with Ross Porter, President of JAZZ.FM91, about the life, music, and legacy of Oscar Peterson.
