The second annual HSL Properties Tucson Jazz Festival,
featuring 13 performances, will take place Jan. 14-24 in downtown
Tucson, Ariz., primarily at the Fox and Rialto theaters. Headliners
include Jimmy Heath, Snarky Puppy and Poncho Sanchez.

Tucson Jazz Festival bills itself as “the only major jazz festival in
the country in January.” The festival will be promoting “Jazz in
January” for the entire month beginning at midnight on Jan. 1, with
“Rick Braun’s New Year’s Eve” at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort. The
festival will also promote local jazz at restaurants and businesses,
supported by a grant from Rio Nuevo, in the two weeks leading up to the
festival kick-off.
