Bob Belden Tribute at NYC’s le poisson rouge Nov. 2

Three of late musician’s bands, plus guests, will perform

A free tribute to the late musician, producer, arranger and bandleader Bob Belden will take place at New York’s (le) poisson rouge Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. The venue is located at 158 Bleecker Street. Three different groups (the Treasure Island Band, Animation/Imagination, Animation), all originally formed by Belden, will perform music that Belden composed, along with special guests including Wallace Roney. Belden’s longtime confidante and collaborator, trumpeter Tim Hagans, will serve as the musical director of the evening. Friends and family members will speak and share stories, in person or by video, including Chick Corea, Tim Ries and Herbie Hancock. The event is produced by Belden’s sister Elizabeth Belden Harmstone, Tim Hagans, Julie Lokin and Danny Melnick under the auspices of Audiences for the Arts, Inc.
