The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation has awarded 173 new Fellowships in its 91st competition. Among those are four jazz-related artists: Darcy James Argue, Etienne Charles, Steve Lehman and George E. Lewis. The awards were given out to 175 recipients in all, in various fields including the arts, science and education. They were chosen from some 3,100 applicants.
