The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis will
launch its 2015 Jazz Across The Americas Tour with concerts at JALC’s
Rose Theater on Feb. 27-28, followed by dates in Mexico City, St.
Thomas, San Juan and the South American cities Buenos Aires, Caracas,
Lima, Montevideo, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago, and São Paolo
throughout March.
The 12-city tour marks the orchestra’s first dates in South America
since 2005. The orchestra will perform Marsalis’ “Swing Symphony,” with
Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, in
Venezuela, and host education workshops and public performances along
the tour route.
